Matt Johnson and Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie Win Big at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards

The Vancouver Film Critics Circle announced the winners in their 26th Annual Awards this week. VFCC offers a full slate of awards for both Canadian and International films, and this year’s nominees and winners represent excellent cinema.

A few highlights from both slates, Matt Johnson takes home three for Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and Sophy Romvari takes home the ‘One to Watch’ award for her wonderful feature Blue Heron. On the international side, Ryan Coogler takes home both Best Director and Screenplay, while Timothée Chalamet and Jessie Buckley collect one more each in their journey to the Oscars.
