National Canadian Film Day is April 15th!

Reminder: This year’s National Canadian Film Day is April 15th, 2026.

Heads up fellow Canadians!  This is your reminder that National Canadian Film Day is coming up in just under one month!  Organized by Reel Canada, the event is in its 12th year this year and highlights the best of Canadian film, but also intends to facilitate connecting us with our own film culture.

Every year there are events hosted around the country, and this year is no different with around 2,000 events expected, and major Canadian networks and streamers committed to highlighting Canadian films to watch at home.  There are hundreds of films in the program, and this year’s spotlight collection includes recent hits like 40 Acres, The Apprentice, Blackberry, Slash/Back, and Youngblood as suggested by Canadian talents like Mary Walsh, Neve Campbell, Yannick Bisson, Atom Egoyan, Eric McCormack, and more.

Whether you want to attend an event or host one (which anyone can!), head over to the official National Canadian Film Day (https://canfilmday.ca) website for more information.
