Canadian Film Festival 2026

The 2026 Canadian Film Festival Lineup is Announced!

The 2026 Canadian Film Festival Lineup has been announced! The festival runs annually in Toronto and exclusively showcases Canadian films, which makes it an essential part of the Canadian film festival landscape. This year’s edition (also the 20th-anniversary edition) runs from March 24th to 29th at the Toronto Scotiabank Theatre, and unfortunately, there is no online component.

This year, the festival has 16 feature films, and a whopping 40 short films from all across our great country. This year’s festival theme is “Eyeballs Up!”, a nice play on “Elbows Up” that also serves as a call to look up at screens and see our stories.

The 16 feature films are:

  • Akashi — dir. Mayumi Yoshida
  • Ballistic — dir. Chad Faust
  • The Bearded Girl — dir. Jody Wilson
  • Best Boy — dir. Jesse Noah Klein
  • A Breed Apart — dirs. Adam Belanger & David Lafontaine
  • A Farewell to Youth — dir. Adam Jack
  • Hangashore — dir. Justin Oakey
  • It Comes in Waves — dir. Fitch Jean
  • James — dir. Max Train
  • Los Rios — dirs. Ryan Fyfe-Brown & Dale Bailey
  • Lucid — dirs. Deanna Milligan & Ramsey Fendall
  • Mihnea — dir. Mike Doaga
  • Nesting (Peau à peau) — dir. Chloé Cinq-Mars
  • Plan C — dir. Scott Cavalheiro
  • #vanlife — dir. Trevor Cameron
  • What Comes Next — dir. Alex Caulfield

For the full schedule and (if you’re in or going to be in Toronto) to purchase tickets, you can head to the festival website, CanFilmFest.ca, and of course, check back here during the festival for coverage!
